Overview

The Test Details page is your command center for device interaction. It provides real-time device streaming, activity tracking, artifact management, and support for viewing multiple tests simultaneously in parallel mode.

Test Types

Device Farm supports two types of tests with different layouts:

Live Tests

Interactive tests for live testing with full device control. Video streaming with touch/gesture input and toolbar actions.

Automated Tests

Tests created by Appium/WebDriver scripts. Shows device screen plus live test execution progress widget.

Parallel Mode

View and control up to 3 device tests simultaneously. Perfect for cross-device testing or monitoring multiple test runs.

Test Actions

End tests directly from the sidebar using the stop button on each card.

Add New Device

Start a new test with the "Add Device" button at the bottom.

Selection Mode

Toggle selection mode to choose multiple tests for parallel view.

Inspector Panels

Access detailed test information through the toolbar panels. Choose between dock mode (side panel) or overlay mode (drawer).

Overview

Test info, device details, user info, and recent activity timeline.

Logs

Live device logs with filtering by level (Error, Warning, Info, Debug, Verbose). Search, download, and stream logs in real-time.

Screenshots

View and download all screenshots captured during the test.

Recordings

View and download video recordings of the test. Shows upload progress for recordings being processed.

Test Results

For automated tests: live test execution progress with pass/fail status for each test. Requires test event integration.

Panel Modes

Choose how inspector panels are displayed using the toggle in the toolbar:

Dock Mode

Panel appears as a resizable sidebar next to the device stream. Drag the edge to adjust width. Great for always-visible logs.

Overlay Mode

Panel slides in as a drawer from the right edge. Click outside or press Escape to close. Maximizes device view.

Activity Timeline

The Overview panel shows a timeline of all actions performed during the test. Each activity is color-coded by type:
